When it comes to getting what we want in life, all too often we adopt a mindset of competition rather than one of creation. We think of all the other people vying for the same things we are and how this will stand in our way. We may want to break into a specific field but we see all the other people already doing what we are doing and how we will need to compete with them. Our friend gets a great new boyfriend and our first thought is that there is one less guy out there for us; we think how hard it is to meet someone good and how there are so many single people competing for, what we often believe, is a limited number of acceptable partners.
There is enough happiness and good stuff to go around. When we set intentions to do, be or have certain things, we will get them. Maybe not right that second; maybe the road will not be smooth all the way, but we will get it. What other people are doing, being and having have nothing to do with us and have no impact. I know that is hard to believe but it is true. We have the power to be full participants in the creation process that forms our life experience and our success is not contingent on whether or not other people succeed or fail.
When you really start focusing good energy on the things you want to bring into your life, you set very powerful forces in motion; forces that are inexplicable, forces that do not operate in way that makes sense to our logical mind. It is these forces that make customers or the client choose you, that bring you the most unexpected opportunities that will advance your goal, that create ‘’chance’’ meetings with people who will give you exactly what you need.
Thinking creatively rather than competitively can be difficult, trust me, I get that. We are conditioned to think more negatively, to not expect too much, to think how other people will stand in our way or thwart our chances, how there is not enough to go around, how some people are ‘’lucky’’ and others are ‘’unlucky.’’ Nonsense all around I say. Focus on what you want and block out what other people are doing, none of it matters. All that matters is that you set strong intentions, release them and firmly decide they are already yours, even if you have not seen their physical evidence yet.
